How it works without solar

A trustworthy comparison shows at least three cases: a small price gap, a typical gap and a generous gap. It also shows what happens if the battery is only half used, the cheap window is missed, or the household can't shift enough evening use.
What to compare in a product
Look past the headline size. Note usable kWh, steady output, minimum reserve, cycle or throughput warranty, charging controls, meter link-up, standby drain, noise, weight, where it may sit — and what happens in a power cut.
A socket battery, a portable power box and a fixed home battery can all be called “storage” while behaving very differently on safety, backup and grid rules. Keep those types apart in any comparison.
